A free 'Grass-Roots' event put on by LOCA (Littlehampton Organisation of Contemporary Arts) for the wider community and in aid of children’s charity Raydar.

Kicking-off 'Love Littlehampton Arts Festival' 2013.

The day will be a festive mix of 'what’s on offer' in the greater Littlehampton area.

·        Choirs and storytellers, cabaret and theatre
·        Live performances including ambient music producers ‘Sounditions’ and pumping rock ‘n’ roll by Littlehampton based group ‘Screamin Lez & The Mindbenders’. 
·        Food stalls of many varieties and cultures will offer 'Taster' & 'How To' sessions
·        Arts & Crafts stalls.
·        Local charities/organisations will be offering information about their services
·        Local owl keepers will have a display of their owls for everyone to meet and hold. 
·        Face and body painting 
·        Ice cream!
·        The ‘Out & About’ team will provide a supervised free play area throughout the day
·        In partnership with Littlehampton Gazette, there will be a Teddy Bear Portrait competition – categories are: Most Like its Owner, Fanciest Dressed & Scruffiest.

There are generally no costs involved as these are grass route events, providing opportunities for artists to support the development of arts in Littlehampton through active participation in events; in turn providing a platform for artists to promote their skills and work.

Littlehampton Arts on the Beach is an invitation to all to create art on Littlehampton seafront. 
An amazing opportunity to promote your art work, engage with members of the public and support the development of arts in Littlehampton. 

FOR EXAMPLE....
- use materials from the shoreline..seaweed, sand, rocks, shells...
- recycle washed-up, human-made items...
- set-up an easel/worktable to demonstrate your art to the public...
- take members of the community on a seaside discovery...
- open-up your beach hut for the smallest exhibition venue on the arts trail...

- Sand castles...stone sculptures... 4pm competition with Littlehampton Gazette, to judge various categories, including: sturdiest, most original & prettiest.

A wacky gathering of local artists to sit/stand/pose/fill Littlehampton's Long Bench as part of LOCA's "Love Littlehampton Arts Festival", followed by an impromptu party/picnic on the green.

Chalk on the Prom

Chalk on the Prom will see Artists coming together to with the community to create murals and works of art in chalk on the Littlehampton's promenade. 
This will happen at the end of Banjo Road, where the new 'Stage by the Sea' will be situated.
All are welcome to join-in. Chalk will be provided, although welcome to bring your own.
